Prairie Kitchen – Rustic Renovation in the City

For this project, the homeowner approached us to completely transform their outdated kitchen. The space originally featured white melamine cabinetry and a basic IKEA island, with countertops that were beginning to peel and show wear.

Although the home is located in the city, the owners longed for a kitchen that reflected the warmth and charm of the prairies. We brought that vision to life by building all-new solid wood cabinet doors and drawer fronts using knotty alder, finished with a custom stain to highlight the wood’s natural character.

We removed the original island and replaced it with a handcrafted custom island that includes a pull-out garbage and organics bin, along with extra deep storage for larger cookware and entertaining essentials. To complete the look, we partnered with our friends at PF Custom Countertops for a beautifully coordinated finish.

This project not only gave the homeowners the rustic kitchen they had dreamed of, but also added lasting value to their home with materials and craftsmanship built to stand the test of time.
